According to the Project Management Institute, a project is a complex, temporary endeavor undertaken to create a unique product, service or result.
The Project Management Office (PMO) is instrumental in standardizing the project-related processes and facilitating the deployment of resources, methodologies, tools and techniques associated with Project Management Institute and in the Project Management Body Of Knowledge (PMBOK). The degree of involvement and support from the PMO will vary from providing project management support to full project responsibility.
