What is "OWA"?

OWA stands for Outlook Web Access. It's launched when you click the E-mail icon in my Tri-C space, or when you login directly at
It has much of the same functionality of your desktop's Outlook, and the look will be the same across most browsers (IE, Firefox, Safari, and Chrome). The document Using Outlook Web Access (OWA) for Employees summarizes several of its features to help you manage your email.

How long will my emails be kept?

Items are deleted after 1 year.

An email someone sent to my account isn't in my mailbox.

Check your junk mail folder to see if it may have been diverted there. 

I received a suspicious looking email. What do I do with it?

Tri-C’s Office of Safe and Secure Computing maintains a twitter feed that alerts users to malicious emails. View the most recent posts in my Tri-C space > My Work Tools tab > Technology News channel or go here to view all the postings.

How do I report junk email?

The two main types of "junk" email are Phishing and Spam.  Learn more about these types and what to do with them.

How do I request a public mail folder for my department?

Submit a Public Folder Permissions Request form.  The Folder owner will also be able to create rules to direct content. 

How do I get permissions to an existing mail folder?

The current owner (or their supervisor) must complete the Public Folder Permissions Request form to request permissions for others to use the folder.

How do I change my information in Outlook?

Please contact your campus-based Human Resources representative. In the email, state the changes you would like to make to your contact information in the Outlook Global Address Book.
